Farewell Celebration for Council Chaplain - June 17, 2009
The
council focused its June 17 meeting on recognizing Fr. Paschal Onunwa
for his service as chaplain of the council since its inception over four
years ago. Fr. Paschal gave a special Good of the Order talk, including
a chronology of his experiences during nearly eleven years of service to
St. Isaac Jogues Parish. In addition to presenting Fr. Paschal with a
monetary gift from the council, pictured is Grand Knight Joe Monte
presenting Fr. Paschal with a plaque expressing the council's
appreciation for his priestly dedication as its chaplain. After the
meeting, council members enjoyed refreshments provided by Anthony Aquilante as they had an opportunity to individually express their best
wishes to Fr. Paschal.
Council Participates in Corpus Christi Procession - June 14, 2009
Saint
Isaac Jogues Parish held its annual Corpus Christi procession on the
parish grounds and nearby roadways on June 14. The council provided
canopy bearers for the procession, as well as the canopy itself. Four
4th Degree members of the council comprised an honor guard for the
procession as well.

Sisters of Life Presentation - June 3, 2009
The council hosted a presentation by Sr.
Maria Kateri of the
Sisters of Life on Wednesday evening, June 3, at St. Isaac Jogues
Parish.
Sr. Maria gave her vocation story and some of the history of her
order, which was founded in 1991. She also talked about the good work of
her order both in raising general awareness of the importance of
pro-life issues and in carrying out practical pro-life activities such
as running a home for mothers at risk. After the presentation, the 100
attendees enjoyed beverage service and had an opportunity to meet and
talk with Sr. Maria. Pictured are (l to r): Joe Monte, Sr. Maria, and

Council Knight Advances to
Fourth Degree - May 24, 2009
In an
exemplification held at the Dolce Hotel in King of Prussia, PA on May
24, council member Paul Fisher advanced to the Fourth Degree. This
highest degree of the order focuses on the ideal
of patriotism.
Support Given to Regional Seminarian - May 6, 2009
The
council welcomed seminarian
Sean Loomis to its meeting on
May 6th. Sean was introduced to the council members and gave a brief
talk in which he described the events and experiences which led him to
discern his vocation.
A contribution of $500 was given to Sean by the council to help with
his expenses. Pictured are (l to r): Deputy Grand Knight Jack Marchiano,

Lenten
Crab Cake Sale - April 3, 2009
The
council's third crab cake sale wrapped up with customer pick-ups on
Friday, April 3. The popular event helps to fund the council's
charitable projects. Pictured helping with customer pick-ups are Joe
Monte, Sean Dempsey, Tony Cucchi, Don Smith and Jack Marchiano. Special
thanks goes to Jack Marchiano and Joe Powers for organizing this
fundraiser. The council also thanks all our customers for their
support.
Council Assists at Saint Patrick's Party - March 14, 2009
The council
provided assistance and conducted several raffles at the Saint Patrick's
Party held at St. Isaac Jogues Parish. The raffles included two baskets
of cheer, an LCD HDTV, and a 50/50 drawing. Pictured are Bill Ristey and
Joe Powers presenting one of the baskets of cheer to its winner. Over
$900 was raised for the parish.

Council Sponsors Student at St. Malachy School - February 3, 2009
The council renewed its participation in
St. Malachy School's Adopt-a-Student Program with a $300 donation for
2009. The Adopt-a-Student Program helps to offset the cost of tuition at
the North Philadelphia parochial school.

Knight of the Year Award
- January 24, 2009
The
recipient of the 2008 Knight of the Year Award is Anthony Cucchi, who
received the award at the council's potluck dinner. Anthony was
recognized by Grand Knight Joe Monte for embodying the ideals of the
order: Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Joe also noted
Anthony's extensive involvement in the projects undertaken by the
council over the years. Pictured are Terry and Anthony Cucchi with Joe
Monte.
Potluck Dinner Hosted by Council
- January 24, 2009
Members
of the council and their families enjoyed a potluck dinner in the Parish
Hall on Jan. 24 after the 5pm Mass. Joining in the festivities were
pastor Fr. Steven Harris and council chaplain Fr. Paschal. Grand Knight
Joe Monte gave a brief review of projects and activities of the council
over the past year, thanking the members for their hard work, and
thanking their families for their involvement and support.
Cub Scouts Pinewood
Derby - January 23, 2009
Several
council members assisted with concession stand services at the Pinewood
Derby held by Cub Scout Pack 81 at St. Isaac Jogues Parish
Hall. Pictured from left are Jeremy Blackburn, Joe Powers, Joe Monte and
Bill Ristey. Special thanks goes to Bill for organizing the
council's help with this event.
