Welcome to our New Member - June 11, 2007
The council welcomes into its ranks Dr. Michael Harkness, who received both
First and Second Degrees on June 11th at St. Cornelius Council in Chadds
Ford, PA.
Council Knights Advance to
Fourth Degree - May 27, 2007
Three
members of the council received their Fourth Degree in an
exemplification held at the Inn at Valley Forge in King of Prussia, PA on May
27, 2007. Joseph Aquilante, William McCann and William Ristey advanced to this highest degree of the
order, known as the patriotic degree.
Knights Take Road Trip to New Haven - April 26, 2007
About
36 knights, spouses and friends took a bus trip to New Haven Connecticut
on April 26 to see some of the historical venues of this city where the
Knights of Columbus was founded. The trip included a stop at St. Mary
Church, where Fr. Michael McGivney established the organization. Also on
the tour was the K of C Museum with its historical religious exhibits,
including a 500th Anniversary exhibit on the Swiss Guard. Pictured are

to Pat Baker for organizing the trip.
Processional
Canopy Presented to Parish - March 30, 2007
Msgr.
Cunningham was presented on March 30th with the gift of a processional
canopy donated by the council to St. Isaac Jogues Parish. The canopy, which will be used in such
events as Eucharistic Processions, was purchased by the council from one
of the only known producers of such items in the world, located in
Perth, Australia. Special recognition goes to the council's Canopy
Committee, consisting of Dave Hobson, Tom Walsh, and chaired by Pat

Second Anniversary of Council Celebrated - Feb. 11, 2007
The
council celebrated the second anniversary of its institution
with Mass at 10:30am followed by a Parish Coffee. Members of the council
processed into church as a group, led by an honor guard of 4th degree
knights from the council. Chaplain Fr. Paschal offered congratulatory
remarks, noting the charitable works undertaken by the council in the
past two years of its existence. He encouraged other men of the parish
to join the council also. The Parish Coffee after Mass, hosted by the
council, provided an opportunity for parishioners to learn more about
the council at an informational table (see photo.) Special thanks goes
to Len Trainor for coordinating this event.
Council Assists at Scouting Event - Feb. 9, 2007
Several
council members assisted with concession stand services at the Pinewood
Derby held by Cub Scout Pack 81 on Feb. 9 at St. Isaac Jogues Parish
Hall. Pictured from left are John Corr, Bill Ristey, Paul Ditton, and
Jack Marchiano. Special thanks goes to John Corr for organizing the
council's help for this event.
Support Given to Local
Seminarians
- Jan. 20, 2007
The
council welcomed seminarians Jeffrey Rott and John Weber to the potluck
dinner on January 20th. Grand Knight Joe Monte expressed the council's
appreciation for all their hard work in their studies at St. Charles
Seminary.
A contribution of $500 was made to Mr. Weber by the council to help with
his expenses.

Knights of the Year Awards
- Jan. 20, 2007
Two
members of the council were given 2006 Knight of the Year Awards at
the potluck dinner on Jan. 20. Bill Ristey and Ed Toney were
recognized for their work on service projects and in support of the
council over the past year. Pictured from left are Joe Monte, Ed Toney,

Potluck Dinner Hosted by Council - Jan. 20, 2007
Members
of the council and their families enjoyed a potluck dinner in the Parish
Hall on Jan. 20 after the 5pm Mass. A wide variety of appetizers, entrees, side dishes,
salads, and desserts were shared by all present. Grand Knight Joe Monte
gave a brief review of the council's activities in 2006, followed by
recognition of seminarian guests Jeffrey Rott and John Weber, and
presentation of Knight of the Year awards to Bill Ristey and Ed Toney.
Council Conducts Free Throw Championship
- Jan. 13, 2007
The council's
2007 Free Throw Championship was held at St. Nor-
bert's Gym on Saturday morning, Jan. 13.
Three youths from St. Isaac Jogues parish captured the local titles in
their respective divisions: Andy McKeough, Jessica Beers and Brianna
McAndrews. Meghan Boccella captured first alternate position in her
division. These winners advance to district level
competition, which is followed by regional, state and international
competitions. Last year over 200,000 youths ages 10-14 participated in the
championship. The council recognizes Jack Johnson and Bill Ristey for coordinating the
event at the local level.
